Recent Attempts at Street Photography
Shortly before St.Patrick’s Day, Earlier this year!
The start of this year has been a bit weird for me, photographically speaking. I haven’t taken a large number of photographs for various reasons. The terrible weather being one of them. However, over the first six months, I have taken a few street photos, and while there aren’t many, I thought I would share them here.
Considering that I used to shoot street photography all the time, it’s something that I’ve really neglected lately. To be honest, I never really got back into it after the pandemic, and it’s probably not my main type of photography any more. I do still like to dabble, though now and again. I’ve tried to get back to it a few times with varying degrees of success. I think part of the problem is that I’ve pretty much shot Dublin to death now at this point, and it doesn’t really inspire me as much any more. But that’s more of a me problem. I’ve actually been thinking about this a lot lately, and I’m planning to do a whole post, or maybe even a video on it, soon.
But anyway, in the meantime, here are some of the street(ish) photos I’ve taken in the first few six months or so of 2026. They aren’t brilliant by any means, but there are some good ones here. I try to get interesting expressions and interesting faces. Incidentally, many of these were mostly taken with my old Canon G7XII compact camera. It’s 10 years old and still going strong, but that’s another post too!
