Miniature Edinburgh
I was recently in the wonderful city of Edinburgh for a few days, and while I was there I was taking some photos of the cityscape from the viewpoint of the castle. Now, I’ll have a bigger photo essay on my Scotland trip in the future, but when I got back home I was looking at these thinking that they would make great faux miniature shots.
This technique used to be all the rage about a decade ago (along with miniature Timelapse’s) and there’s a couple of ways that you can do this. The best way is to shoot it in camera with a Tilt Shift lens, but if you don’t have one of those (they’re expensive) then you can achieve a similar effect in software. In fact, you can get pretty good results just out of Lightroom, and I covered that on my YouTube channel a while ago, and you can find the video here (or below)
Anyway, this is just a bit of fun, and I thought that it worked well with the angle and the light that I had that day. We actually had quite an adventure in Scotland travelling all over, and I’ll have a full photo essay on that soon, but for now, enjoy these shots of a toy Edinburgh!
